Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 12, 2026 · Last Updated: June 19, 2026
Welcome to Revella. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of revella.ai, including the Companion chat service at revella.ai/companion (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Revella, Inc. ("Revella," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or using the Companion, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
You represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of another person, you represent that you have authority to bind that person to these Terms.
2. Important Disclaimers — Not Legal, Financial, or Therapeutic Advice
Revella and the Companion are not substitutes for licensed professionals. Specifically:
Not Legal Advice
The Companion is not a lawyer. Nothing provided by the Companion or any part of the Service constitutes legal advice, legal representation, or an attorney-client relationship. The Companion provides general information and strategic frameworks based on publicly available legal information. It cannot and does not apply the law to your specific facts. Every state has different divorce laws, procedures, and requirements. You must consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before making any legal decisions.
Not Financial Advice
The Companion is not a financial advisor, certified financial planner, certified divorce financial analyst, or certified public accountant. Information about assets, valuations, tax implications, retirement accounts, and financial strategies is general in nature and may not reflect current regulations or your specific financial circumstances. You must consult qualified financial professionals before making financial decisions.
Not Therapeutic Counseling
The Companion is not a therapist, counselor, psychologist, or psychiatrist. While the Companion aims to be empathetic and supportive, it cannot provide mental health treatment, crisis intervention, or professional emotional support. If you are in crisis, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233).
AI Limitations
The Companion is an AI system. It can make errors, produce inaccurate information, misunderstand your situation, or provide responses that seem authoritative but are incorrect. It does not have access to court records, your legal filings, or real-time legal developments. Always verify information independently and with qualified professionals.
Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on information provided by the Service. Revella assumes no liability for actions taken or not taken based on Companion outputs.
3. AI Disclosure
The Companion is powered by AI models provided by Anthropic. Specifically:
- Claude Sonnet 4.5 — powers the Companion's conversational responses, strategic analysis, and artifact generation
- Claude Haiku — powers the case-file summarizer that extracts and organizes facts from your conversations, and the conversation summarization safety net for long sessions
By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You are interacting with an AI, not a human. The Companion is an artificial intelligence system. It does not have emotions, experiences, or professional credentials, even though it communicates in natural language.
- AI outputs may be inaccurate. Despite our efforts to provide high-quality information, AI-generated content can contain errors, omissions, outdated information, or hallucinated facts that appear credible.
- AI cannot replace professional judgment. The Companion lacks the ability to exercise the professional judgment that licensed attorneys, financial advisors, and therapists bring to individual cases.
- Your data is not used for AI training. We access Anthropic's models via the Anthropic API. Under Anthropic's API Terms of Service, data submitted through the API is not used by Anthropic to train or improve their models. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
4. Description of Service
Revella provides an AI-powered strategic Companion for women navigating divorce with complex financial assets. The Service includes:
- Companion Chat (revella.ai/companion) — a conversational AI interface where you can discuss your situation, explore strategic options, and receive general information about divorce processes, asset division, and financial considerations
- Case File — a structured record maintained by the Companion that captures key facts, assets, deadlines, open questions, and other details from your conversations to provide continuity across sessions
- Artifacts — structured documents generated by the Companion on your behalf, including asset inventories, mediation preparation briefs, and other strategic planning materials
- Waitlist — a pre-registration system for users interested in joining the Service
The specific features, capabilities, and scope of the Service may change over time as we develop and improve the platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.
5. Account Registration
To use the Companion, you must create an account using a valid email address. We use passwordless magic-link authentication — you will receive a login link via email each time you sign in.
You agree to:
- Provide a valid email address that you control
- Keep your email account secure, as it serves as your sole authentication method
- Not share your magic-link login emails with others
- Not create multiple accounts for the same person
- Not create accounts on behalf of others without their knowledge and consent
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@revella.ai.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security risk.
6. Fees and Payment
Current Status: Free Beta
The Service is currently offered as a free beta. During the beta period, all features are available at no cost. The beta period may end at any time with reasonable notice to active users.
Planned Pricing
Following the beta period, the Service will be offered at a subscription price of $97 per month. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before transitioning from free beta to paid subscription. At that time:
- Existing beta users will be given the option to subscribe or discontinue use
- No charges will be applied without your explicit consent
- Payment terms, billing cycles, refund policies, and accepted payment methods will be communicated before the transition
Price Changes
We may change our subscription pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Price changes will not affect the current billing period of existing subscribers.
No Hidden Fees
We will never charge you without clear disclosure and your affirmative consent. There are no setup fees, cancellation fees, or overage charges.
7. Your Data and Content
You own your data. All information you provide to the Companion — including your messages, case file data, and personal details — belongs to you.
License to Operate. By using the Service, you grant Revella a limited, non-exclusive license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This includes:
- Generating Companion responses based on your messages and case file context
- Maintaining context and continuity across your conversations by storing structured summaries in your case file
- Producing artifacts that you request
- Monitoring aggregate service quality and costs (not tied to individual user identities)
This license exists only for as long as your account is active and is terminated upon account deletion.
We do not use your data to train AI models. Your conversations and case file data are not used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models, including those provided by Anthropic. See our Privacy Policy (Section 3) for details.
Export and Portability. You have the right to export your data. The Companion can generate artifact exports of your case file, asset inventories, and other structured data on request.
Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting privacy@revella.ai. Upon verification, we will permanently delete your account, conversation history, case file, and all artifacts within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or incite violence against any person
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or probe the AI system's underlying models, prompts, or architecture
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other programmatic means to access the Service without our written permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure or security
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Use the Service to generate content that is illegal, defamatory, or fraudulent
- Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission
- Use the Companion's outputs to create competing products or services
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access for violations of this section, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.
9. Limitation of Liability
Revella, its founder, agents, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
- Cost of procurement of substitute services
- Damages arising from reliance on Companion outputs for legal, financial, or personal decisions
- Damages arising from errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated content
- Damages arising from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- Damages arising from service interruptions, downtime, or data loss
(a) the total amount you paid to Revella in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or
(b) one hundred dollars ($100).
This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if Revella has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Revella disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
- Warranties regarding accuracy — we do not warrant that Companion outputs will be accurate, complete, current, reliable, or error-free
- Warranties regarding availability — we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of bugs or viruses
- Warranties regarding outcomes — we do not warrant that use of the Service will result in any particular outcome in your divorce proceedings, financial situation, or personal life
You use the Service at your own risk. You are responsible for verifying all information provided by the Companion with qualified professionals before relying on it.
11. Survival
The following provisions of these Terms shall survive termination or expiration of your account and these Terms:
- Section 2 (Important Disclaimers — Not Legal, Financial, or Therapeutic Advice)
- Section 3 (AI Disclosure)
- Section 7 (Your Data and Content) — with respect to deletion rights and data ownership
- Section 9 (Limitation of Liability)
- Section 10 (Disclaimer of Warranties)
- Section 12 (Governing Law)
- Section 13 (Dispute Resolution)
- Section 14 (Intellectual Property)
- This Section 11 (Survival)
These sections survive because their subject matter — particularly the UPL disclaimers, AI disclosure, liability limitations, and dispute resolution — is relevant regardless of whether your account remains active.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at legal@revella.ai. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve the matter within 30 days. If informal resolution is unsuccessful, either party may proceed with formal dispute resolution as described in Section 13.
13. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution First. As described in Section 12, you agree to attempt informal resolution of any dispute before initiating formal proceedings.
Jurisdiction and Venue. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Texas. You consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
Class Action Waiver. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. If this class action waiver is found to be unenforceable, then the entirety of this dispute resolution section (except for the informal resolution requirement) shall be null and void.
Equitable Relief. Nothing in this section prevents Revella from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of Revella's intellectual property rights.
14. Intellectual Property
Revella's Intellectual Property. The Service, including its design, features, underlying technology, AI prompts, system architecture, branding, logos, and documentation, is owned by Revella, Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Service beyond the limited right to use it in accordance with these Terms.
Your Content. As stated in Section 7, you retain ownership of your data and content. By using the Service, you do not transfer any intellectual property rights in your content to Revella.
Companion Outputs. Artifacts and other content generated by the Companion based on your inputs are provided for your personal use. You may use, copy, and share Companion outputs for purposes related to your divorce proceedings and personal financial planning. You may not commercially redistribute Companion outputs or use them to build competing products or services.
Feedback. If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant Revella a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback into the Service without obligation to you.
15. Termination
By You. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting privacy@revella.ai.
By Us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service:
- Immediately, if you violate Section 8 (Acceptable Use) in a way that poses a security risk or legal exposure
- With 15 days' notice for other violations of these Terms
- With 30 days' notice if we discontinue the Service entirely
Effect of Termination. Upon termination:
- Your right to access the Service ceases immediately
- We will process data deletion in accordance with Section 7 and our Privacy Policy
- Provisions identified in Section 11 (Survival) continue to apply
- If you have a paid subscription, we will provide a pro-rata refund for any prepaid period remaining after the termination date, unless termination was due to your violation of these Terms
Data Retrieval. If your account is terminated by us (other than for Acceptable Use violations posing security risks), we will provide a reasonable window (not less than 15 days) for you to export your data before deletion.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
- For material changes, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account at least 30 days before the changes take effect
- We will post the updated Terms on our website
If you disagree with the updated Terms, you may stop using the Service and request account deletion before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those Terms.
